The homeowner found it difficult to choose a style for the new fence. We helped them to make a decision by putting posts in the ground and making preliminary touch-ups to provide them with three choices. To help them decide, I stayed back to wait for them to return from work to speak with them in person. We continued with the completion of the fence with no additional time to the quoted timeline.
Once we completed the fence, we dug the pool and delivered the pool kit and the stairs. The homeowners selected these elements months before the project began. Despite our recommendation to not go with a 4’ stairway, they decided to go that way anyway. But once they saw the stairs in person they knew they had made the wrong choice.
I knew they had doubts about their decisions after seeing their reaction when the stairs showed up. With reassuring communication, I reminded them that nothing is set in stone until we poured the concrete.
They quickly responded with a decision to change the stairs to 8’. Even though we had to charge them for the cost associated with changing the stairs and one pool panel, the problem was rectified the next day and did not delay the pool timeline.
