This is necessary for saltwater pools. Ideally, levels should be kept between 2700 – 34900 ppm. When salt is too low, it will result in low chlorine production. Since salt recycles constantly, salt loss should be minimal but still important to test.

Copper and Iron

These can cause damage or discolouration to the pool’s surface and even corrode metal components. This can happen if metal objects such as poles or toys fall into the pool or after excessive use of algaecides. Ideally, you don’t want to see any iron and copper should fall within 0 – 0.03 ppm especially if your pool uses copper to reduce chlorine.
